Responsibilities:

The VP Accounting is responsible for the client service and management of a team of accounting professionals in providing accounting, cash management, financial reporting and financial management consultation services for a large portfolio of community association clients. This position will interface with the property managers, general managers, property developers, community association Board of Directors and third-party service providers on financial matters. This is a “hands-on” position from an accounting perspective. The Vice President of Accounting will be responsible for:

  • Client contractual service deliverables including review and approval of monthly financial reports and annual budgets
  • Client satisfaction and retention
  • New client integration planning and consultation
  • Recruiting, hiring, training and mentoring staff
  • Development and implementation of department and client community SOPs and internal controls
  • Trouble-shooting and resolving escalated issues
  • Coordinating with other CiraConnect Shared Services departments providing AP Lockbox, AR Lockbox, Property Conveyance Lockbox, Delinquent Account Collections, Audit-Tax, Insurance, Corporate, Information Technology and Transition services in the delivery of overall financial management services
  • Assisting with prospective client proposals
  • Financial consultation with property managers, general managers and community Board of Directors
  • Process improvement recommendations and implementation
  • Becoming a “subject matter expert” in the CiraConnect technology platform with respect to the delivery of accounting and financial management services

Qualifications:

  • Accounting degree from a 4-year accredited college / university required
  • 3 years minimum experience as a Controller / Director / CFO level or higher required
  • Previous experience supervising an accounting department with a minimum of 10 employees
  • Real estate, property management and/or outsourcing industry experience (2+ years of recent experience) strongly preferred
  • CPA / graduate degree a plus
  • Hands on experience with a mid to upper tier accounting software package
  • Demonstrated experience with a systems conversion and balance transfer
  • Exceptional computer skills (power user)
  • Excellent grasp of basic accounting theory and methods of accounting (accrual, cash and modified cash)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal/communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, challenging, high change/growth environment
  • Ability to travel (5 -10%)
