Vice President, Engineering Integration and Logistics (EI&L) Practice
The EI&L Practice at SAIC supports solution development and delivery across all three of SAIC’s vertical markets (Defense, National Security, and Civilian), representing a significant portion of the company’s revenue. We deliver capabilities and solutions to our customer’s needs for the spectrum of engineering, integration, and logistics services spanning system lifecycle from concept exploration to disposal. Services include SE&I, Digital Engineering, specialty engineering, prototyping, production and sustainment, enabled by EI&L tools, approaches, processes and facilities.

Leveraging your business acumen, technology savvy, and people leadership skills, you will lead the EI&L Practice in SAIC. In this role, you will drive the EI&L strategy from the portfolio-spanning horizontal in SAIC’s matrix structure through the EI&L Practice leadership team. You will be the external spokesperson for SAIC’s EI&L capabilities and solutions and the internal champion for the EI&L Strategy. You will develop and drive the EI&L strategy including solution roadmap, internal R&D programs, product development and strategic workforce development. You will be responsible for shepherding the EI&L portfolio of enterprise capabilities and repeatable solutions, and manage the EI&L leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and drive SAIC’s EI&L strategy and champion the strategy both internally and externally
  • Execute the strategic plan for the EI&L Practice; identify potential areas of investment for developing repeatable and differentiated services and solutions; manage approved activities including internal R&D approved programs; ensure consistent enterprise process implementation
  • Set the training strategy and oversee the strategic training budget for workforce development in alignment with the strategy
  • Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with external alliance partners supporting the strategy
  • Collaborate with internal customer-facing leadership to capture strategic and high-value business development opportunities
  • Work in partnership with the Strategy, Sales, and Solutions Team to influence the prioritization of pipeline opportunities from the EI&L Practice perspective
  • Support the execution of current EI&L contracts
  • Identify opportunities for expanding EI&L capabilities across customer markets
  • Mentor and manage the team of Solution Developers, Solution Architects, and Solution Delivery leaders and teams.
  • Discuss/enable/optimize/affect staffing opportunities and career development with direct reports and EI&L Practice employees
  • Financial and Administrative Management – Support annual operating plan development, and manage execution of the EI&L Practice to the budget
  • Represent EI&L Development needs to SAIC’s Corporate IT and EI&L leadership


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Executive experience developing and executing successful EI&L strategies, and leading large EI&L development organizations
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in leading Engineering and or Integration teams to solve business and mission problems. At least 5 years delivering services to the US Government and at least 2 years managing organizations of more than 250 personnel
  • Must have a detailed understanding of the EI&L marketplace for US government, to include Federal Civilian, DoD, and IC customer segments.
  • Must have excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively, including public speaking, and briefing senior executives in SAIC and the US Government. Experience interfacing with executive leaders and peers in advocating priorities, investments, and business processes
  • Must have a thorough understanding of strategy development and execution, capability management, people management, and EI&L technologies
  • Must have a thorough understanding of business development and capture with a growth mentality and track record of winning new business
  • Characteristics necessary for success include: analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills; the ability to gain internal and external support; to operate independently without supervision or feedback; and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers and peers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field and 15+ years’ experience in engineering, integration or sustainment field, with supervisory background.

Master’s degree is desirable.
