Plans and directs all aspects of the business national growth objectives and activities. Works with Collaborative Heath Systems executive leadership and strategy team to develop growth strategies, tactics and drives completion of initiatives. Delivers results against established annual and longer term growth targets. Brings extensive, established physician relationships across the U.S. and continuously develops new and existing provider relationships leading to business building opportunities. Demonstrates success collaborating with physicians especially in relation to value-based payment arrangements particularly with CMS/CMMI programs. Well-versed and up-to-date with regard to CMS/CMMI innovative payment models especially in Medicare.
Essential Functions:
- Overall accountability for growth and market expansion.
- Leads the recruitment and development of physicians and/or physician groups resulting in CHS/Physician partnerships in CMS/CMMI programs such as MSSP ACOs, Primary Care First (PCF), Direct Contracting (DC), Commercial ACOs, IPA development, and any future CMS/CMMI future innovation models.
- Works closely with CHS leadership, strategy and government affairs to assess landscape, opportunities, target geographies, programs and providers.
- Builds trusting relationships with practicing clinicians to partner on future opportunities to drive innovation in value based care.
- Develops additional relationships in targeted markets and expansion markets.
- Compares growth opportunity assessment and program requirements with business strengths and weaknesses. Collaborates with business leaders on strategies and tactics to address gaps in support of growth goals.
- Makes formal recommendations to executive leadership on identified growth opportunities.
- Partners with Marketing to produce engaging provider recruitment materials.
- Establishes a high degree of CMS/CMMI innovation payment program knowledge.
- Leads and directs staff of up to 3-5 business development associates.
- Partners with CHS market and Operations leadership on new business implementations to ensure smooth hand-offs.
- Manages market development / recruiting budget.
- Attends national provider conferences to promote and at times speak on behalf of CHS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Education:
- Required a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Preferred a Master’s degree in a related field
Candidate Experience:
- Required 10 years of experience in strategy, development or executive leadership role in a managed health care organization, health care consulting firm, or related health care services provider.
- Required a proven track record of achieving goals, profitability and service results are required to be successful in the role.
- Required in-depth working knowledge of publicly funded health programs
