Your role in the team:

  • Responsible for the delivery of the program and projects being carried out within the (insert sub-channel e.g. Gaming) sub channel of William Hill Online
  • Hands-on program management, working closely with the Technical Lead, Product Lead and Sub Channel Directors to ensure that delivery is aligned to business targets and the technical roadmap
  • Line management of a team of program and project managers
  • Accountable for ensuring that a quality program management service is delivered to senior stakeholders and ensuring that a robust and fit for purpose project governance is applied to the projects being managed by those teams
  • Strong financial governance, business change management, technical dependency management, resource planning, stakeholder management, project execution and service transition
  • Work with sponsors to shape and make key decisions on objectives, scope, timescales, deliverables and benefits of the program and gain key stakeholder engagement
  • Key program escalation point within your sub-channel, actively working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify and agree the best options to resolve issues throughout the program and agree decisions where necessary with the Head of Program Delivery
  • Manage escalation of risks, issues and dependencies, make decisions and ensure mitigating actions that successfully executed
  • Attend and present to Channel Steering Groups, Technical Review Boards, and Online & Retail Steering Boards to secure funding for new projects
  • Ensure that your direct reports and their teams have clear, documented objectives; and development plans are reviewed monthly in 1:1s
  • You will work closely with William Hill colleagues across geographically dispersed team and travel extensively to support as required

Skills needed:

  • Experience gained in Project Delivery, including extensive recent experience as a Program Manager, Head of Delivery or equivalent
  • Proven track record in creating, line managing and mentoring high performing teams that are customer focused and aligned to the long-term business requirements
  • Strong experience in the Betting & Gaming, Retail and / or Banking sector.
  • Strong customer focus recognizing internal and external customers, establishing effective relationships and demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs
  • Good technical awareness and appreciation of IS principles, including regulatory, legislative and industry practices, gained through practical experience and/or professional qualifications
  • Detailed knowledge of IT delivery processes and approaches in use across the market i.e. AGILE and Scaled Agile
  • Experience and knowledge of Business change and multi-channel transformations
  • Confident in operating within a constantly changing environment
  • Able to focus on Program delivery and objectives whilst dealing tactically with operational issues
  • Professional management skills including communication, networking and influencing skills necessary to establish working relationships within the company up to board level and 3rd party development partners
