The Enterprise Program Management (EPM) Office is responsible for transforming the way Boeing runs projects and programs across the Enterprise. The Senior Manager of Enterprise Program Management People and Processes Team is seeking an experienced Agile leader to support the creation, development, implementation and integration of the Agile Center of Excellence (ACE).


Specifically

The selected candidate will be a key contributor to architect and stand up and support an Agile Center of Excellence that will enable Agile cultural transformations across all Business Units, Functions and industry affiliations. An ACE key contributor will advise and assist program managers and other Agile practitioners understand principles and practices that enable improved program execution, organizational health and improved product quality. The ideal candidate will possess ability to operate across business units and functions, establish Boeing as a “Thought Leader” in integrating Agile and Scaled Agile into cyber-physical product space, and influence key decision makers with or without direct authority. This person will be a strategic thinker who can see the big picture, future Boeing and industry trends and then implement the organization’s vision. The selected candidate will excel at driving the cultural change required to transform the way we will manage programs for the second century.

The EPM core office is located in Seattle. Location for this position is negotiable, and could be placed in Seattle (Everett/Renton), St. Louis, or other Boeing site. Depending on work placement, frequent travel between work locations may be required.


In general, the ideal candidate:

Serves as a core team member for the ACE initiative. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Defines resources for projects and processes, provides technical management and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and industry affiliations. Provides oversight and approval of principles, technical approaches, products and processes. Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) to develop and execute the ACE statement of work.

Develops project or operational plans aligned to department’s objectives. Implements plans to ensure business, technical and stakeholder requirements are achieved. Works with outside vendors and internal Boeing Supplier Management organizations to establish standard practices for vendor support and training in the Agile values, principles and practices. Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.

Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides technical consulting internally and externally to the EPM team as well as Business Units, and Functions. Part of the internal ACE team that supports all businesses and functions. Represents Boeing at appropriate technical and industry forums and events.

Conveys ACE and EPM organizational messages to facilitate the integration of Agile into program or process goals. Provides technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills definition relating to Agile mindset, principles and practices.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in acting in agile (SCRUM) leadership roles of Product Owner and/or Scrum Master
  • 5+ years of experience working with Agile/SAFe Tools & Processes
  • Active Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant (SPC4.6) certification


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Senior Boeing and Industry level domain knowledge in Agile and SAFe methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Program/Project management execution

  • Engineering or Technical project leadership


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master +13 years’ related work experience, 19 years’ related work experience, etc.).
