Big Bear Remodeling is located in Rocky River. We started as a remodeling company, but we eventually branched out and opened up licensed plumbing and electrical divisions. We have won multiple awards from Houzz, Angie’s List and Home Advisor for our work and service, and this year, we were recognized by Remodeling Magazine as on of the Top 50 Remodelers in the United States.
We have grown a lot and we are looking for a project manager to manage our portfolio of projects, which are mostly kitchens, bathrooms and additions as well as some commercial projects. We run about a dozen projects at a time, so we need someone who is energetic, smart and good at multi-tasking. This position does require approx. 50-60 hours per week, including some evening and weekend work.
In addition to knowing a lot about construction, you must be able to thrive in a high-paced environment and have great organizational skills. Most of the work you will perform as a project manager at our company will be at the computer and on the phone from our central office and showroom. Some occasional site visits will be needed but more than 80% of your job will be managing from a desk. This work will consist of project inception, pulling permits, scheduling and attending preconstruction meetings, ordering all ancillary and primary materials for all projects, scheduling inspections, meeting inspectors, checking time sheets, conducting walkthrus, and basically making sure the train arrives on time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years experience ordering building materials (ideally for residential projects)
- 5+ years experience working in residential construction or doing project management
- Basic understanding of Ohio residential building code and normal building standards
- Basic literacy with Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word) and ability to easily learn new software programs
- Ability to type without errors at minimum 40 words per minute
- Clean driving record
- “A” TYPE PERSONALITY (You will manage a lot of projects, each which requires managing an orchestra to make sure everything goes smoothly. You will need to be incredibly well organized, and that is an understatement.)
COMPENSATION:
- $48,000 base salary plus $12,000 to $30,000 in bonuses based on profitability
