As an effective communicator, the RVP of Sales for the NSO Central Region provides strategic leadership and manages NSO sales strategy in the region and works very closely with Local Media station management leadership. Externally, this role will provide leadership and close engagement with advertising agencies and clients based in the territory for television and digital sales. Comprehensively develop and execute the company’s short- and long-term sales strategy to deliver market results in accordance with Univision’s NSO and local station television revenue goals. The role will also be responsible for establishing and managing external partnerships while overseeing NSO linear and digital social sales and sponsorship sales. An innovative sales leader with a proven track record of elevating sales teams to meet revenue goals, the RVP will work closely with station leadership and EVP to develop new revenue generating opportunities, support station inventory optimization and marketplace positioning.
This individual must be able to navigate and develop internal, cross-departmental relationships with local station sales leadership, senior Local Media leadership, Business Development, and other leaders. This person will also work very closely with the Marketing team, to deliver best-in-class marketing solutions to advertisers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client prospecting and partnership development
- Responsible for the collective sales target for offices in the region
- Represent Univision Portfolio in relationships and deals
- Manage the performance of direct reports in the sales team, as well as develop the competencies of direct reports
- Prioritize business needs for the VP’s and AE’s
- Execute sales strategy across Univision local platforms to maximize revenue
- A deep understanding of developing custom solutions that meet customer expectations and NSO station initiatives across community, news, entertainment, and sports.
- Best in class external communications (client/agency) – elevate engagement with senior agency leadership and actively mine agencies in the territory
- Determine client solutions by matching client needs and key local media properties and strategic initiatives
- Negotiating and working with station sales leadership, as well as clients and agency contacts
- Ongoing account management for existing clients, to ensure continued agency /customer satisfaction
- Evaluate, plan and present any/all new opportunities to help determine viability for business/revenue potential
- Closely manage office performance and align with station goals to achieve budget goals
- Oversight of sales development functions including prospecting, presentation, and advertiser events.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred. Extensive, directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 10 + years sales/sale management experience
- Established network of contacts and relationships within the ad sales business community and within the central region
- Strong communication, problem solving, analytical capabilities and collaboration skills
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Prior management/team leadership experience
- Experience selling cross-platform media
- Property sales experience with intellectual property, and event /experiential concepts
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Must have excellent attention to detail and organization skills given the many moving parts
- Energetic self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent executive-level presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as influencing skills
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work from offices in Dallas, TX
- Employment/education will be verified
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be willing to travel 30% of time
