What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Regional Projects and Turnaround Delivery Manager, you will be the expert in leading capital projects and provide management to the riskiest and challenging (major) projects. Other duties will include:
- Control the nominated site capital expenditure and projects to achieve production and financial targets.
- Monitor and forecast the nominated Manufacturing Site capital outlay
- Ensure project planning and delivery performance targets are set and achieved
- Provide concise, clear project reporting across nominated sites
- Embed value analysis processes to capital submissions proposals.
- Integrate Global engineering resources into capital projects where required.
- Assemble and utilize competent and capable multidiscipline project teams utilizing both internal and external resources, the establishment of project leadership and coaching cultural settings, ensuring performance is assessed and actively managed towards the achievement of project objectives.
- Be the Regional representative of the project delivery team, facilitating clear and concise communications and help establish & maintain strong relationships with the site leadership team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
- Coach and mentor site team members to enable personal and professional development.
- Ensuring that capital is invested efficiently and effectively by;
- Ensuring project scopes are clearly defined and aligned to the business needs. Following rigorous option analysis and value assessment processes.
- Executing within a structured project controls framework meeting defined HSE, schedule, quality and cost targets.
- Supporting the development and deployment of IPL standard engineering and project management systems.
- Provide project management on defined (Site) Capital Projects, managing all facets of major multi-disciplined projects including the deliverables of the capital budget, quality & schedule, in line with the IPL PMS.
- Site ownership of and auditing to the IPL Project Management STD-IPLG-HSEC-014. Alignment with the Site’s Contractor Management System and associated Common Critical Control.
- Ensure that projects are initiated, developed, executed from “start to finish” through all project stages FEL 1-3, Execution, Hand Over & Commissioning & Close Out by;
- FEL 1: Understanding, testing and challenging the business case, risk or opportunity, associated with each project such that a suitable Early Project Brief is developed with the project owner, providing suitable scoping guidance to the study/ project team.
- FEL 2: Ensuring rigorous options & alternatives assessment, value engineering and analysis.
- FEL3: Developing the optimal solution ready for execution including PMS key deliverables. Prepare a high-quality cost estimate and Capital Expenditure Proposal (CEP) on behalf of the project owner.
- Executing the approved project scope within a structured project controls & risk management framework to achieve zero harm and CEP schedule, quality, cost objectives
What We’re Looking For:
- BS degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 15 years in a related industry with a proven track record in project management, problem-solving, startup, and commissioning.
- Proven project and portfolio delivery across the full project lifecycle. Experience in managing portfolios with a total value in excess of $100M and individual projects greater than $20M
- Knowledge with the selection of process equipment such as pumps, vessels, and heat exchangers.
- Familiarity with automated process control in manufacturing operations, including temperature, flow, level, pressure, and pH instrumentation.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Develop detailed project cost estimates
- Develop, prepare and present project proposals to key stakeholders.
- Project Management – Project Development, vendor/fabricator management, cost and schedule control, communication to key stakeholders
