Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Geotechnical team. The Geotechnical Construction Services group provides comprehensive services for projects requiring foundations and earth retention systemsThis position will be based out of the Dinwiddie, VA office but will support job in NC. The ideal candidate is an motivated, independent thinking, and dependable individual. This individual must have the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and work well with others. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist in estimating projects for bid planning work schedules, activities, etc.
  • Develop work schedules for projects, sequencing of work activities, coordinating activities with the project superintendent and other field supervisory personnel, including engineering staff.
  • Meet with project engineering staff to map out layout activities on the project ensuring that all stakeout work is performed in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Monitor job costs constantly to identify any problems resulting in costs above cost as bid so that action may be taken to correct the problem and bring costs in line.
  • Coordinate work of subcontractors and deal with vendors and suppliers ensuring that there is delivery of requires materials and supplies when needed to perform the wok on the site.
  • Work with Equipment Manager to ensure that the project has the types and quantity of equipment required to perform the work when such equipment is needed.
  • May assist in the supervision of the project when the project supervisor is on vacation, when more than one shift is working and/or at other times as determined necessary.
  • Will visit project sites frequently to attend progress meetings with DOT representatives, supervisory personnel and field engineering personnel to monitor progress on the project and to address any problems which may have developed.
