TRC is seeking a highly motivated National Project Manager. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and is a front-line client-focused seller-doer who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. The National Project Manager is responsible for networking with clients to identify and define projects, developing and negotiating proposals, working with teams of technical staff and sub-consultants to execute work, maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget.
Expectations
- Manages the strategic aspects of large engagements, including portfolio work, and helps mitigate risk.
- Assists in the oversight and execution of projects on a national level.
- Reviews high-level project deliverables in areas of competence for quality, completeness and accuracy.
- Assists in project status reviews and helps ensure that safety, financial control, and quality assurance procedures take place for all engagements in conformance with Company standards and customer satisfaction.
- Effectively optimizes project profitability.
- Is an active participant in developing and implementing strategic objectives that are aligned with the Company’s strategic initiatives.
- Takes a lead role in helping identify key or strategic accounts.
- Works in conjunction with the National Market Director team to follow up on sales leads.
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with clients and capitalizes on equity and partnership opportunities.
- Assists in managing business development on a strategic level.
- Is an expert in the business sector and/or a technical area.
- Evaluates and redesigns practice offerings as appropriate.
- Understands the implications of different technical choices and is able to guide our clients to the best solution for their situation.
- Develops and meets bookings, revenue and other financial goals for assigned projects and assists with national accounts/clients.
- Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates, multipliers for assigned projects/programs.
- Manages the negotiation of contract pricing when necessary in conformance with plan, policy or direction, as appropriate.
- Works with local Practices and multidisciplinary teams to price projects (including portfolio work) on a local, regional and national scale.
- Proficient implementation of TRC’s Health & Safety Program.
Proficient implementation of TRC’s Quality Management Plan applicable to your work.

- Travel minimum of 25%
Education/Experience
- M.S. in Environmental Sciences or related degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 20 years of experience with site assessment, remediation, due diligence, and transactional advisory services.
- Diverse work experience with national client accounts.
