PROJECT MANAGER:
Portrait Construction, Inc., a General Contractor in Corona, California is seeking an energetic, experienced professional to control/direct all phases of the construction of large multi-family apartment projects in Southern California. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills along with computer and hands on project management skills. In addition, this position requires the ability to successfully handle stressful environments that develop during construction jobs.
Successful candidates shall be able to demonstrate a proven and successful track record of previous responsibility in the management and construction operations of multi-family residential projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualifications include:
- 5 years experience as a Project Manager.
- Apartment experience: projects with 2-4 stories, 50+ units.
- Strong knowledge of the multi-family/apartment construction industry and the quality standards related to apartment building communities.
- Expertise in site development and apartment building construction methods.
REQUIRED TASKS:
- Responsible for coordinating all phases of construction.
- Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
- Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.
- Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and laborers.
- Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards. Ensure project documents are complete.
- Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
- Act independently regarding most daily and weekly activities and interacts with leaders on a reporting basis, as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and codes for residential construction.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
