The Financial Systems Manager designs, develops and oversees the operation and maintenance of the organization’s financial systems. Implements new software, maintains databases and ensures proper system access. Works with the IT and finance departments to meet business requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages day to day system / operations issues, manage request assignments and set priorities for resolution
- Primarily supports Financial Planning and Reporting system users across the company by troubleshooting problems, answering questions, creating and/or modifying reports.
- Improves the business process and operations through prototyping and developing new financial system enhancements
- Specific to Current System, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) –
- Develop and maintain dimensional changes as well as formulas, calculation, and allocation logic
- Create query and report specifications, develop business requirements, test and finalize custom reports, and design report prototypes to review with users, including documentation and training
- Maintain application security and backup procedures
- Provide technical support to users, act as liaison with third party vendors to trouble-shoot problems relating to user access, software updates, or installation
- Project Management: responsible for defining the scope of work, deliverable and timelines * Develops reporting system, modeling tools and dashboards
- Coordinates, reviews and assures timely close for Corporate Accounting and ensure all financial reporting is accurate
- Directs or performs daily problem solving, including evaluation of policies and procedures for improvements
- Supports all aspects of external and internal audit as related to financial systems

Work Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years’ experience; or equivalent experience. Typical range is 10-13 years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency with various software systems (i.e. TM1, Hyperion, Host Analytics, Intaact, Blackline, FRP)
- Strong technology skills including extensive knowledge of spreadsheet programs (i.e. pivot tables and macros)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to establish positive working relationships
- Excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Accounting and Finance (i.e., budgeting)
- Strong work ethic to solve problems, accomplish objectives, and meet deadline
- Experience planning, designing and implementing ERP solutions
