Global Retail Banking & Consumer Lending is focused on driving speed, synergy and scale across our Consumer Bank. As part of GRBCL, the Business Unit Manager must establish strong working relationships with internal and external contacts and will be expected to assist and/or lead initiatives and special projects critical to the direction of business. S/he will manage multiple priorities on a day-to-day basis and must be able to respond quickly on time-sensitive deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the GRBCL Senior Program Manager across day-to-day agenda, business operations and strategy
- Take on high level problems with limited definition and create structured statements around root causes / situation, opportunity identification and developing solutions – turning into specific action recommendations Ability to shift seamlessly between specific problem sets in support of GRBCL priorities across Retail & Wealth, Cards & Lending, Partnership, Sales & Distribution and Controls – as well as grasp day-to-day tasks around business operations and management
- Must be able to grasp key priorities and complex issues quickly and create clear written presentations/communications
- Apply a broad understanding of business, financial controls, operational functions and technology to respond to inquiries
- Direct working teams around development of presentations & materials as required – synthesizing / summarizing information from across businesses to provide critical information
- Planning / oversight of key meetings and timelines – quarterly off sites, weekly meetings, etc.
- Create and update senior presentations as required
Candidate Qualifications
- 5+ years business experience in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with management and cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency
- Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials
- Strong project planning experience; highly organized and detail-oriented
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must be comfortable with uncertainty and working in a large, complex organization
- High degree of integrity, ethics and confidentiality
- Advanced PC skills (e.g., Microsoft Office proficiency), Strong PowerPoint skills
