SUMMARY
Member of the senior leadership team, participating as subject matter expert in strategic planning and development. Responsible for design, development, administration and execution of all processes and tasks related to human resources services, policies and programs for the facility. We are looking for someone who not only has experience, and technical skills, but is a skilled HR communicator who will be respected not feared.
Prior to the education and experience for the Director of Human Resources of Calvin Community the following is a pre-requisite that we believe in and follow every day.

CORE COMPETENCIES
- Responsible for design, development and day-to-day execution of all HR-related programs: (Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Retention, Workman’s Comp, FMLA, Compensation, State Mandated Training, Workforce Development and Regulatory Compliance of Background Checks)
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all areas within the HR function
- Responsible for development and maintenance of all training records
- Assist management regarding all HR-related issues and recommendations
- Serve as first point of contact for all employees regarding all HR-related issues
- Maintain all employee records and HR-related documentation
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) at an advanced level, including mail merge, creation/management of complex documents and spreadsheets using macros, formulas and charts, incorporating data from multiple sources
- Tech savvy to research new HR improvement processes and methodologies
- Experience working with HRIS systems. System implementation experience is a plus
- Familiarity with HCM programs MartixCare desirable
- Experience with LMS administration and management (Relias preferred)
- Experience working in highly-regulated industries (long term care preferred)
- Responsible for vendor selection and management within the HR function

- Ability to maintain resident and employee confidentiality consistent with all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment physical and tuberculosis screen
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.
Professional HR Certification (minimum SHRM-CP) required
EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years progressively responsible experience in all areas of Human Resources
- Previous HR experience working in a highly-regulated industry required. Long-term care experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Be in good physical health (physical exams and tuberculosis screenings required)
- Able to walk, stoop, twist, squat, bend, kneel, stretch or reach at least 20% of the work period.
- Using proper body mechanics, the employee must occasionally lift or move objects and patients weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to climb stairs in an emergency
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
