The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for all aspects of Bridgeport Sound Tigers marketing, social and digital media, game operations and entertainment, communications and community relations. This person provides daily leadership to his/her staff, mentors and develops their skills and capabilities, and generates revenue for the organization through ticketing initiatives, brand development and customer experience. This person is tasked with developing effective strategies that significantly grow individual ticket sales year-over-year. He/she works closely with others on the senior leadership team regarding overall distribution strategies as well as season and group ticket initiatives, corporate sales programs and related revenue targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily leadership of marketing and communications team (5 employees)
  • Working with the president of business operations, develop and lead the strategic vision of the organization with an emphasis in growing ticket sales, promoting the Sound Tigers brand, increasing the team’s community presence and creating the best fan experience
  • Establish and promote a positive culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Develop and manage annual individual ticket sales plans and operating budgets to achieve revenue and profitability growth
  • Develop the promotional calendar for the season and all media plans, activity plans and strategies
  • Work with vice president of ticket sales on lead generation strategies
  • Lead business intelligence with the goal of understanding our customers by building 360-degree profiles of our fans
  • Closely monitor and report to senior leadership on key performance indicators and metrics as well as provide informed and timely recommendations and effective decision making
  • Recruit and hire staff on a continuous basis to maintain an appropriate level of staffing and build bench strength
  • Mentor and develop staff using a positive, supportive approach on a consistent basis
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals as well as manage and assess staff performance on a continuous basis
  • Collaborate closely with and leverage ticket sales, partnership sales, finance, business intelligence, arena operations as well as others within the senior leadership team
  • Be a key contributor amongst the senior leadership team

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business, management, sports, sales or related field; Master’s Degree in business, management, sports, sales or relate field preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in marketing; experience working in the sports and entertainment industry preferred
  • Proficient at Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics CRM)
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems and other ticket sales technologies
  • Knowledge of business intelligence, data and analytics and how they drive revenue through targeted marketing campaigns
