The Vice President of Human Resources is a critical leadership position that will continue to shape the success of this fast-growing company. Ideal candidate will have experience in government contracting and compliance including a working knowledge of the Service Contract Act.
**This is a remote position and will be performed out of the candidate’s home-based office. Individual must have discipline to work in this work environment and needs to be reliable and readily available always throughout the workday. **
HOURS OF WORK
- Full Time
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employee must be available during “core” work hours and work at least 40 hours a week.
- TRAVEL
- Out-of-area and overnight travel is to be expected.
Leadership is paramount:
- Overall management of benefits administration, training and other HR programs
- Oversees all Human Resource functions including employment, employee relations, compensation & employee benefit administration and Human Resource policy implementation
- Assists executive management in the annual review of the organization’s compensation wage and salary program including salary structure development, bonus plans, Service Contract Act compliance & other compensation initiatives
- Researches and maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Researching and making recommendations to executive management regarding policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
- Assisting accounting with payroll processing, accurate reporting of company salary and benefit expenses and planning HR expenses
- Coordinating effective employee on-boarding and terminations, including equipment, access, required forms, visa clearances and team assimilations
- Ensuring the ongoing development of the Employee Handbook and the dissemination of key policies and procedures
- Works directly with department managers to assist them on personnel matters and provide them with the right HR information to make business decisions
- Handles all unemployment claims and potential EEO investigations on behalf of the company. Represents the company in any potential employment litigation cases while working closely with company legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO.
- Participates on committees and special projects to assist leadership to grow and maintain a culture of excellence, healthy work environment and promote the organization as employer of choice in the industry.
- Leads internal marketing initiative for the company
- Provides direction, leadership and coaching to the HR staff to create a high-performance team

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 15 years HR experience required or equivalent combination of education and training. Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development or related field preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR credential; or have ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire preferred.
