Position Summary
Lead Metals Commodity Strategy definition and implementation across the three PBUs at Itron: – Material Cost Savings – Sourcing strategy – Preferred Metals supplier management – Metals commodities commercial negotiations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform technology watch, set-up technology roadmap with R&D on all Metal commodities
- Consolidate supplier key figures (turnover, market share, customer base, quality, cost and delivery KPIs)
- Define the Metals commodity strategy and the deployment roadmap, ensuring that they are in line with overall business objectives & monitor execution
- Perform supplier evaluation for the key Metals suppliers of the commodities managed including QBRs
- Analyze and monitor Metals supplier risk (financial, quality, technology, and supply chain continuity). Define Metals pricing trends globally using IHS and LME data
- Set-up long-term agreements with preferred Metals suppliers in accordance with the defined commodity strategy and Itron legal
- Validate Metals suppliers bid list and sourcing strategy for each component of a defined Metals commodity (Steel, Bronze, Aluminum, Brass, Nickel)
- Validate the major Metals supplier selection for a defined component and project in sourcing committee format
- Lead Metals commodities Request For Quotation (RFQ) process
- Identify cost reduction opportunities for Metals – via alternative designs, material change, supplier’s negotiation, resourcing – track results via Impact tool
- Repetitive comment-delete
- Lead MCIP (Material Cost Improvement Process) projects at Metals commodity level
- Drive continuous improvement within the Metals supplier base in terms of cost, quality, delivery, service, flexibility and working capital
- Monitor key Metals supplier’s performance (financial, quality, cost, delivery and technical roadmap)
- Repetitive comment-delete
- Deploy procurement vision, mission, strategy, policy and manage the procurement network at Itron on the Metals commodities at Itron globally
Education: Masters degree preferred with Bachelor’s in Engineering also preferred.
Experience: 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Tooling/Casting experience is also preferred
