Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a senior executive to lead Corporate Development and Strategy for the company, responsible for prioritizing investment in existing markets and executing on market expansion in North America and internationally, through a combination of mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships, sale leaseback transactions and greenfield/brownfield development.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead M&A transactions, from sourcing and evaluation through all aspects of execution, including negotiations, diligence and financing.
  • Lead strategic partnerships and sale leaseback efforts globally
  • Evaluate and prioritize new markets for expansion in North America and internationally, in partnership with executive management team
  • Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities, including capacity expansion, new data center construction, new site acquisition across all existing Vantage markets and potential expansion markets
  • Partner with Vantage’s New Development group to evaluate new greenfield/brownfield sites and develop business cases to support investment in existing and new markets
  • Lead competitive analysis for Vantage in existing and expansion markets
  • Identify emerging customer segments and prospects within existing customer segments, in partnership with sales and marketing
  • Work with executive team to develop Board ready materials related to new investment opportunities (ie. M&A, strategic partnerships, sales leaseback transactions and greenfield/brownfield development)


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in finance or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of experience corporate development required, 15+ years preferred
  • End-to-end leadership experience of M&A transactions required including ability to drive all aspects of diligence process and timeline
  • Data Center experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build external partnerships and alliances with acquisition targets, the investment community, and others
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, including long-term projects as well as opportunistic transactions. Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills, including complex financial modeling and valuation concepts used in mergers and acquisitions
  • Ability to weigh factors and make decisions in alignment with strategy and core values
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and corporate finance, ability to develop and articulate compelling value propositions to investors, lenders and other external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive peers to execute and collaborate on work streams across levels, geographies, and departments. Ability to drive results through others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams of excellence to include setting vision and direction
  • Travel required, is expected to be ~25% but may increase over time as the business evolves
