THE POSITION
The Senior Manager, FP&A reports to the Executive Director of FP&A and North America Finance Operations and supports the CFO and Executive management team in all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, short- and long-term budgeting, operational analysis, capital planning, and reporting.
The Sr. Manager, FP&A is joining a fairly new financial leadership team and will provide this team a clear, concise, and detailed view of the company’s financial and operational performance. He/she will also consolidate and distribute reporting packages across the company’s operations which provide leadership and operations management with real-time data to support decision making, investment, and remediation, where required. This role is critical to the success of the business.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, deploys and manages the budgeting and forecasting process with the Director – generating weekly estimates, monthly forecasts, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans.
- Leads preparation and analysis of consolidated business performance metrics that effectively communicates and facilitates decision making for local operations, senior management, and BOD.
- Analyzes budget/forecast variances to actual for reviews with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
- Leads development of annual operating plan and long-range strategic plan along with periodic reforecasts.
- Leads the development of Corporate SG&A forecasts, budgets and the related variance analysis.
- Leads the month-end review process [financial performance, key operational metrics, trends, etc.].
- Leads profit analysis by business group, plants, customers, and products.
- Leads scenario planning and financial statement modeling to evaluate the impact of decisions.
- Measures profitability and return on invested capital.
- Provides management with insights into drivers of revenue, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepares management presentations for BOD and other key meetings.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
The Senior Manager, FP&A will likely have at least ten years of financial control and reporting experience in a manufacturing environment. This experience will include time as a key advisor to the CFO of a global, publicly-traded company, at some point in his/her career.
Education
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, finance or a related discipline. An MBA is preferred. Added financial certification is also desired [i.e., CPA, CFA].

- Strong grasp of accounting concepts and three statement modeling [P&L, BS, CF].
- Experience developing and implementing CPM and analysis modules for management. Will be a builder – not a “maintainer.”
- Experience supporting an Executive management teams
- Experience developing capital budgets.
