Redwood Green, a leading U.S. provider of high-quality, safe, sustainable, innovative and accessible cannabis products, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Operations. This position will be initially responsible for management and oversight of all operations pertaining to a Cannabis production facility located in Denver, Colorado. As Redwood Green continues its growth trajectory, the position may take on additional responsibility with future acquisitions.

This position will manage and provide leadership for Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging, Regulatory compliance, and facility maintenance. The goals of this position include innovation, cost reduction, and improved efficiencies. Ultimately, this person will actively oversee and manage the production schedule for the Cultivation, Extraction, Trimming, Packaging, and Distribution Departments, ensuring efficiencies and quality throughout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementation of a manufacturing ERP system
  • Communicate operations vision and strategy
  • Oversee Manufacturing, Operations, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs activities
  • Accountable for the strategic planning and oversight of department activities, the planning and implementation of budgets, and for working closely with functional managers by providing regular guidance and general direction to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Develop, execute and maintain short term tactical and long term strategic plans to generate increased revenue.
  • Develop and implement related policies, procedures and SOPs that make sense for the business; communicate and guide functional managers accordingly.
  • Support company wide initiatives.
  • Ensure cost effective measures and budget compliance; develop cost saving initiatives to meet or exceed financial performance requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee timely delivery of quality product and improve product yields.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead and motivate staff; promote employee involvement, operational excellence, internal career development, and foster positive organizational culture.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), related regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Set and maintain strategy with regards to inventory controls and accuracy.
  • Monitor the maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
  • Positive facilitator of change.
  • Work in partnership with Human Resources on staffing, compensation and employee relations issues.

Requirements:

  • Colorado MED Key Employee Badge required.
  • Eight to ten years of progressive operations experience in a large manufacturing environment. Two to three years in a senior role required.
  • Previous experience in managing/implementing an ERP system required.
  • Proficiency in business modeling with Excel required.
  • Five years of project management experience required.
  • One to three years in the Cannabis Industry highly preferred.
  • One to three years previous management experience in an agricultural manufacturing/cannabis grow facility, highly preferred.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Certification highly preferred.
  • Post graduate degree preferred.
