Texas Institute of Science has an immediate need for a Project Manager in the Research and Engineering Services division. This regular, full time opportunity is based out of our Richardson, Texas location.
This position will be responsible for delivering multiple projects on budget, and on schedule with high customer satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for all phases of project management including the initial bid, project resourcing, project initiation, project execution and closeout. Additionally the ideal candidate must have excellent leadership, negotiation and mediation skills, and have the ability to work with all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering or material science and a passion for understanding both the business and the technical aspects of the projects they lead.
Main Duties:
- Defines project scope and deliverables with the Client
- Works with management to estimate project duration, cost and resource requirements
- Creates detailed project plans
- Manages day-to-day project activities
- Organizes and runs project meetings
- Reports project status to management
- Responsible for the quality of project deliverables
- Ensures that projects are completed on time and on budget
- Responsible for prioritization decisions within the project
- Manages change requests throughout the life of the project
- Provides leadership, direction and motivation to the project team
Work Experience Requirements:
At least three years of experience in project management or in a development role in the professional services industry.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering or equivalent experience
