Full Job Description

The Personnel Commission of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking applicants for Personnel Director. This position is responsible for administering the classified personnel program in conformance with the Merit System Article of the Education Code and other pertinent laws, rules, and regulations under the direction of the Personnel Commission. The major functions of the classified personnel program include job classification, salary administration, recruitment and selection, merit system rules and regulations, classified personnel assignments, and disciplinary appeal hearings.

MONTHLY SALARY: $14,142.86 – $16,607.13 ($169,714 to $199,285 annually)

*Salary Information is based on a full-time, 12-month position

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF AN APPLICATION:

Education:

A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, preferably with a major in human resource management, industrial or organizational psychology, public administration, or a related field. An advanced degree in one of the aforementioned majors is desirable.

Experience:

Five years of recent full-time, paid professional-level experience in a senior personnel management position with responsibility for administering the merit system within a school district, community college district, or governmental agency. Experience must have included the supervision of staff, which included professional-level employees.

Special:

A valid Class “C” California driver’s license must be obtained within 10 days of establishing residency in the State of California.

Travel to locations throughout the District is required.
