The Managing Director provides operational, administrative and financial management to the Ed Snider Center in support of the Centerâs mission. Coordination with various resources at the Smith School and on campus will be an essential component. These resources include the coordination and support of faculty research initiatives, curriculum development, student extra-curricular activities and external engagement. The highly visible position requires a self-motivated, personable and dedicated professional who will ensure accountability for Center functions in support of the Centerâs mission. The position reports to the Executive Director, Ed Snider Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of executive level management experience required. Relevant experience to include the design and implementation of strategic plans, program management and development, management of administration and finance, fundraising, and marketing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated interest and knowledge in the theories related to enterprises and markets as it pertains to history and present day.
A creative self-starter with excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with a strict attention to detail. Ability to exercise and maintain sound decision-making, judgment, and confidentiality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multiple constituencies.
Adaptability in relation to uncertainty.
Ability to work collaboratively and strategically with fundraising professionals and other campus leaders.
Ability to manage, recruit, retain, and empower team members through delegating tasks and monitoring performance.
Ability to develop and administer program and organizational budgets.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, database programs, online collaboration and conferencing tools.
Preferences:
Experience cultivating donors and liaising with boards of directors/advisors is strongly preferred.
Experience working with a start-up enterprise or in the regional or national startup eco-system is a plus.
Prior experience working with a non-profit or academic institution and/or teaching and creating educational programs/syllabi is a plus.
