HR Manager / Director
Aerodyne is looking for an exceptional HR professional for our rapidly growing, multi-state technology company. The ideal candidate will be one who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can maintain close relationships with employees working in remote locations.
In this role, you will anticipate and plan for long-term HR needs and trends, and lead HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, talent acquisition, development of a superior workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
· Ensure compliance with HR programs, policies and contract specifications by partnering with local Teammate Principals and local management while managing the tactical implementation through HR.
· Develop human resources strategies, benefits, and tactics to attract, manage, develop and retain employees and to achieve business objectives.
· Ensure locations are operating in accordance with federal, state, local employment requirements, e.g., Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, etc. as well as government contracting regulations (Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act, DCAA)
· Ensure that all required government reports and employee distributions are completed, filed, distributed in a timely manner
· Develop processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals.
· Counsel and assist Teammate Principals to maintain, identify and implement actions that improve or maintain a positive employee relations environment. Identify any internal and external factors that may affect employee retention; address these issues by working in concert with Teammate Principals and supervisors to develop proactive strategies to meet or exceed turnover goals.
· Collaborate / participate with teaming companies on local program initiatives
· Develop action plans to respond to current and anticipated staffing issues and retention goals.
· Develop and mentor employees via their Teammate Principal through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
· Assist Teammate Principals with maintaining internal pay equity consistent with local contract compensation requirement.
· Negotiate competitive benefit contracts and renewals
· Contribute to contract proposals
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related
- At least 10 years progressive experience in various Human Resources positions
- At least 5 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work
- Experience applying knowledge of human resource policies and procedures as well as federal and state laws
- Knowledgeable in the application of government contracting regulations
- Experience reviewing and reconnecting on actions and with people to ensure the completion of the task
- Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels Strong service orientation
- High energy level and stamina to meet heavy demands for time and service
- Strong problem solving, coaching, counseling, conflict resolution and decision making skills
- Possess leadership ability, strong communication and management skills and work well with employees at all levels of the organization
- Persuade and influence decision makers/demonstrate knowledge of policy interpretation as well as HR strategies
- Excellent time management and organizational skills within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact with senior-level decision makers
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Extremely strong systems orientation; Deltek / Costpoint experience preferred
- PHR or SPHR preferred
