Makotek provides the cable industry a full range of field services that includes, customer retention (phone & field collections), as well as projects such as converter change-outs and tap audits. Makotek has over 300 employees in 10 states and is used by Charter Communications (Spectrum) in New York to handle customer field retention. Makotek is currently hiring a General Manager for an existing crew of 12 employees in Albany, NY. Our Albany office performs field collections, and equipment recovery on the behalf of Charter Communications (Spectrum). Makotek is a privately-held corporation.

Job Duties
- Promote Safety in the work place. Provide leadership and direction to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Maintain and develop client relationships at all levels of local system.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics and benchmarks (i.e. customer retention rates, CPE recovery)
- Determine workforce requirements and established production schedules to meet service loads.
- Handle employee relations. Hire, train, discipline and terminate staff for office location.
- Plan, assign and direct work of all employees assigned to office location.
- Follow policy and procedures of company and client. Complete administrative tasks correctly and on time. Support organization goals and values.
- Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity and develop alternative solutions.
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a changing, multiple-demand setting. Prioritize a large volume of work to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Work 6 days per week, including evening hours. Able to adjust schedule to meet work load and client demands.
- In depth knowledge of the cable TV industry, contract labor, customer retention and bad debt.
- Established presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web applications (i.e. WebEx).
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and prepare business models.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor condition. Must be able to carry and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Prior management experience of at least 3 years in collections or related industry is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university is preferred.
