Job Summary and Description

The Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for the full range of human resource management functions, including: human resource administration, hiring, benefits, compensation, labor relations, performance management, organizational and professional development and training, employee Title IX compliance and HR information systems.

LCC is a large, dynamic and complex organization that requires a team of HR professionals to address all employee related issues, program, policy and processes for exempt, nonexempt, bargaining unit staff, and all other employees as appropriate in the organization. The Executive Director of HR has primary responsibility for management of the HR function for the college, with oversight for its daily operations and budget accountability. The Executive Director of HR works with a high level of independence and exercises a high degree of initiative and judgment under only minimal guidance from the Executive Vice President for Finance, Administration, Advancement & Student Affairs. The Executive Director of HR is a member of the Executive Leadership team, with specific responsibility for undertaking initiatives that serve the current and future human resource needs of the college.

Qualifications


Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree required. (You are required to attach a copy of your transcript. An unofficial copy is acceptable).

Demonstrated significant experience, knowledge, and competence in the management of Human Resources, including experience leading/managing other professional HR staff.

Possession of significant knowledge and experience as a consultant and advisor to senior level management in such areas as: human resources administration, recruitment and selection, employee and labor relations, organizational development, performance management, benefits and compensation, and human resources information systems.

Experience in developing and leading organization-wide program initiatives, and assessing and implementing complex organizational change.


Preferred:

Master’s Degree preferred.

HR or other related advanced certification highly desirable.

Previous experience working in a similar academic or other related public sector environment preferred.

Significant experience working with unions preferred.
