THE ROLE
This is an unparalleled opportunity for an Executive Director, Analytic Services .
Providence St Joseph Health is building a world-class analytics function leveraging advanced data analytic tools and techniques (e.g. predictive modeling, simulation, optimization, strategic analysis etc.) to improve clinical care and operations. The Executive Director, Analytic Services will be a key member of the leadership team that enables our business leaders to make decisions and optimize the performance of their organizations through the delivery of analysis, dashboards, reports, and insights. The incumbent leads efforts to develop and refresh the business intelligence strategic roadmap, understands the company’s strategic direction, collects information requirements, develops implementation strategies and manages the continuous improvement of the company’s analytics and business intelligence capabilities. S/he provides leadership to foster data-driven, strategic decision-making within the enterprise to ensure that program activities are strongly aligned with organizational goals and objectives, and that the organization executes in alignment with the strategy in the face of multiple competing priorities. The Executive Director will provide exceptional leadership to the Healthcare Intelligence, including building a successful analytics and cognitive services teams, developing strategic partnerships, and influencing PSJH highly matrix organizational structure to represent data and analytics interests. Additionally, the leader will lead a team to apply sound data science, sophisticated data analysis, and program evaluation practices to derive actionable insights that support operational efficiency and health care quality improvement.
The Executive Director, Analytic Services reports to the VP, GVP or SVP of Healthcare Intelligence and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in Providence Strategic and Management Services (PSMS), as well as with other Providence Health & Services staff, vendors and agents, and others
This role requires a minimum of eight plus years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting or related field. The position also requires a minimum of ten years of total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
The experience needed for this position include process improvement methodology, change management, operational improvement in complex systems. Proven ability to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization. Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.
The Executive Director, Analytics Services will:

Drive enterprise wide transformation and process standardization, executive, and improvement for all analytic work products.

In partnership with client services AVP, assist in the identification of value enabling analytic project tasks and scope (resources, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies) in partnership with internal and external clients and ensure alignment to strategic and department level initiatives

Collaborate with all stakeholders to manage priorities on data initiatives. Lead the development, preparation, and distribution of the organization’s enterprise-wide analytics portfolio

Set key strategic objectives and direction for the departments, in conjunction with our customers and other leaders in Healthcare Intelligence

Build, maintain, and govern analytics for business partners – this may be aligned to a specific market or for business partners directly

At the direction of the GVP, collaborateswith other system and regional leaders, understanding end to end integrated processes and how to drive business value

Help develop business case for proposed service offerings and initiatives, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive analysis, risk analysis, industry best practices

Lead new tactical, analytic-related projects, such as Business Intelligence development, complex clinical and operational reports utilization, and other tactical level HI Team initiatives and projects

Set department and individual work objectives to meet system-wide and local region strategic and operational objectives. Use quality improvement methodology knowledge and data analysis expertise to lead improvement initiatives with the business stakeholders across the system

Maintain organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities that are critical for success in this position

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field.

At least ten years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare reporting, analytics in integrated payer or provider organization

Knowledge of Epic reporting and analytic solutions. Understanding of Healthcare Intelligence products and services portfolio

Knowledge of enterprise dashboard and reporting platforms (e.g. Tableau, Oracle business Intelligence, SAP, HANNA, SAP Business Objects.) and Big Data Technologies

Experience leading a P&L with financial responsibilities and providing leadership for all functional services areas including experience handling customer escalations

Capability in working across an organization and managing cross-functional working groups and virtual teams

Ability to set aggressive goals while being accountable for continuously driving improved outcomes, leading change and ensuring highest quality work product
