JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME/ SALARY/ EXEMPT

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all functions of the organization from fundraising, strategic planning, staff, volunteer, and contractor management, delivery of services, reporting, and public outreach and awareness.

REPORTS TO: BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Staff Management

Recruits and hires staff.

Schedules and facilitates regular meetings with staff.

Evaluates staff performance using time sheets, staff reports, proven accomplishments, on site observation, internal and external feedback, and staff performance review evaluation meetings.

Develops and facilitates staff trainings and arranges for speakers to come to sites to consult with staff as appropriate.

Signs off on timesheets, leave requests, and responsible for the administration of all human resources procedures for staff members and participants.

Organizational Spokesperson and Partnership Development

Acts as main contact for funders, potential funders, and press.

Formalizes all relationships with employers, project sponsors, and fee for services contracts, service providers, and community partners.

Operations & Financial Management

Knows and carries out the published policies of the agency.

Works with program staff to formalize and enforce policies and procedures according to grants.

Reviews budget, manages financial day to day financial accounting, signs and checks for the organization, oversees annual financial audit, and liaises with book keeping and financial services firm assigned to manage the Louisiana Green Corps chart of accounts.

Manages insurance, facility, banking, tax, professional service and membership accounts, and all other organizational needs for the Louisiana Green Corps.

Ensures the organization is compliant with board bylaws and procedures.

Completes annual budget, strategic plan, and calendar prior to the start of each fiscal year.

Sustainability Planning

Creates a Louisiana Green Corps business plans for all new initiatives.

Works to secure fee for service contracts for the Corps when appropriate.

Researches and writes grants with the help of a grant writer

Pursues corporate sponsorships.

Develops an annual fund development plan.

Manages grant tracking and fund tracking database.

Develops a donor base.

Identifies strategic partnerships to leverage support.

Secures government contracts to support Corps.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Services, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

At least four years’ experience managing a non-profit and program budget management.

At least three years’ experience managing people.

At least two years’ experience in workforce development field.

Valid Louisiana Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation to use to attend meetings.

Excellent writing and computer skills

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Experience working with youth a plus.

Experience with QuickBooks a plus.

Salary commensurate with experience.
