An exciting opportunity to join the worldâs oldest company involved in the manufacture of horse care products
Reporting directly to the International Sales Manager, you will look to open new and develop existing trade accounts by working closely with our distributors. This will be achieved by providing exceptional sales support and building outstanding customer relationships.
This is a field-based role and as such will require 75% travel and will mean 3-4 nights away from home every week.
Up to $70,000pa (based upon experience) and commission
About the Role
Meet or exceed the Annual Plan
- Facilitate the achievement of the overall sales plan.
- Increase the number of accounts that actively sell Carr & Day & Martin products.
- Effectively introduce and secure distribution for new products.
- Achieve maximum presence and positioning of our products in each outlet.
Effectively plan sales activities in your areas
- Ensure regular contact with distributor representatives by dual calling and regular telephone/email contact.
- Develop and implement an effective call cycle.
- Educate and motivate our distributors representatives or agents to promote Carr & Day & Martin in their area through product training, open days and attending key events.
Provide effective sales and business reports
- Submit detailed daily call reports.
- Complete customer updates at each visit clearly identifying opportunities.
- Provide honest and accurate quarterly forecasts.
- Supply detailed analysis of all sales activities.
- Maintain a forward planned calendar at least four weeks in advance.
- Provide market and competitor information.
Participate at shows
- Proactively identify and participate at key shows and events to help build brand awareness.
- Develop and implement a programme of activity to support dealers and the Carr & Day & Martin brand.
Participate positively in sales meetings and actively help to develop the company culture
- Share creative ideas with team members and management to ensure best practice.
- Professionally present results and plans at sales meetings.
About You
- Excellent understanding of horses and the equine industry in the USA.
- Good understanding of concept selling and how to position premium brands.
- At least 5 years previous sales experience in a similar role.
- Highly capable communicator at all levels.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent time management and organisation.
- Passionate about delivering a high level of customer service at all times.
- Driven individual that looks to exceed targets where possible.
- Leads by example.
