Director, Information Technology
Responsible to deliver highly available, secure and global IT infrastructure, IT services, systems and solutions to Modular Mining’s workforce to ensure they can efficiently execute their duties and ultimately fulfill the company’s mission in alignment with Komatsu’s Information Technology function.
Provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing highly secure information technology solutions and services that align with and support the company’s Vision, Mission, Commitments and Strategic Initiatives.
This position directs the planning, implementation and support of enterprise-wide IT systems in support of the corporation’s operation in order to improve delivery, cost effectiveness, product/service quality and ultimately the business results.
Improve the security posture of the organization and its products by increasing the cyber/information security of the organization’s existing and future IT systems, products, products’ deployment, support and services to its customers.
The business results will be measured through customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, increase in market share and growth in revenues and profitability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related Engineering discipline
- Master’s degree in related discipline, preferred
- Ten (10) years of experience working in the information technology field
- Experience in a senior leadership or executive position
- Broad knowledge of international business
- Good understanding of the mining industry and related technologies
- A resourceful thinker who is willing to challenge the status quo of the organization
- An effective communicator, compelling leader, and strong collaborator
- ITIL Service Management Certification, preferred
- Travel: up to 20%

Information Technology
- Build system-wide strategic and technical direction in the planning, development, evaluation and coordination of information and technology solutions, based on the annual and longer-term organization priorities and business plans
- Recommend, approve, prioritize, and control projects and project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems
- Ensure continuous delivery of global IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance, including business continuity-disaster recovery policies and procedures
- Responsible for corporate data governance and data privacy
- Develop and implement information security vision and strategies for the corporate IT infrastructure and systems and Modular’s products and services – for both short and long term to support corporate goals
- Identify, implement, integrate and operate the most appropriate technologies for IT initiatives and produce technology-driven innovation to further facilitate business objectives
- Provide functional leadership and control over the regional technical and applications IT personnel in order to create sustainable, efficient and high-quality support capability
- Keep abreast of technological changes and innovations in the information systems field to understand technology offerings, options, and risks/costs
- Utilize KPIs and performance metrics to measure and improve the performance of the IT team
- Enable an environment that rewards innovation, effective problem solving and customer orientation
Essential Duties and Activities:
- Build a professional, competent and high-performing team of Information Technology, Business Systems Support, Project Management and Quality Assurance that can assist executive to deliver on the Purpose and Responsibilities of this function
- Identify and nurture potential future leaders of the organization by managing development opportunities based on quantifyable results delivered. Act decisively when performance levels are consistently not met by individuals, thus creating opportunities for high performing employees
- Provide advice, guidance and direction to the Executive team to ensure creation and execution of realistic financial and execution plans aligned with Company Strategic Initiatives and Business Goals
- Monitor and analyze IT performance data, including safety and internal customer satisfaction, and of the Company as a whole on an ongoing basis and ensures that acceptable performance is achieved, and if minimal standards and performance levels are not being met, expected to decisively intervene with short and/or long-term measures to address the situation
- Instill by example a culture of success and continuous improvement to his organization applying analytics and PDCA cycle to enhance key areas of the business and address shortcomings
- Lead and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
- Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the safety of our employees and the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
