Director Information Technology

The person filling this role is highly knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate their team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems to meet Blockchains’ objectives while keeping within time and budget constraints.

The role manages all IT personnel, manages the company’s technology operations, and the implementation of IT systems and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversee all technology operations and evaluate according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
• Control budget and report on expenditure
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
• Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety
• Communicating with the technology team and other departments as collaboration requires

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Experience with technologies including windows servers, Hyper V and VMWare technologies and cloud hosted technologies
• 15 years of experience including at least 5 years as hands on technology leader setting up and managing data center technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to multi-task
• Proactive problem solving and decision-making skills
• Friendly and professional demeanor

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience as an IT Manager/Director or similar role
• BS/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc is a huge plus
• Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc.
• Experience in controlling information technology budget
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication abilities
