POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading cause-driven nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Conceptualizes, organizes and implements a comprehensive strategic annual giving program. Requires significant time in the field, minimum desk time. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BS/BA or equivalent, with 5 or more years of successful fund-raising experience in annual giving campaigns and special events; or 5 or more years of successful sales experience.
2. Motivated self-starter with proven experience in cultivating, soliciting and growing leadership level gifts to annual fund; or in increasing sales and growing a sales team and territory.
3. Familiarity with the organizational principles of annual giving and related marketing.
4. Experienced, comfortable and enjoy working in person, and face-to-face, with diverse people in a large variety of settings.
5. Excellent writing, organizational and communications skills to support face-to-face engagements both formal and informal.
6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people including staff, managers, volunteers, senior leaders, community leaders, community organizations and the general public.
7. Impeccable attention to detail is imperative.
8. Understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of the YMCA.
9. Experience in cold calling, in developing new relationships and networks, and in promoting the features and benefits of a brand, product, investment or a cause.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Continuously improves and implements the YMCA of Greater Toledoâs annual campaign strategy in collaboration with executive and volunteer leadership.
2. Works closely with Association leadership at every branch to ensure effective recruitment of volunteer leadership for overall annual campaign to execute an effective, comprehensive annual giving program.
3. Develop strong supportive relationships with Information Technology, Branch Executives, Chief Operating Officer, grant writers (as it relates to annual grants), and Director of Marketing and Communications.
4. Collaborates with Association and branch leadership to successfully execute association campaign communications and campaign strategies that support annual giving and a culture of philanthropy.
5. Helps develop and support plans for identifying, cultivating and soliciting annual giving prospects and existing donors throughout the Association.
6. Works with Association leadership to identify, recruit, and train branch volunteers in gift solicitation.
7. Accountable for the monitoring of accurate development department office functions of billing, receipting, and accounting as related to donor gifts.
8. Monitors the quality of data management of annual gifts and conducts regular analysis and reporting of annual giving progress.
9. Monitors systems for timely and appropriate acknowledgments of annual gifts and other prospect/donor correspondences.
10.Develops print, web site, social media, and other messaging strategies in coordination with marketing department as it relates to Annual Giving.
11.Gathers information needed for grant writers to submit Annual Foundation Requests.
12.Manages special events, projects and committees as requested.
13.Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00
