How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:
This role supports new pricing and pricing management of all Brighthouse life products. This position will make key decisions regarding pricing for Brighthouse life products and will also be responsible for the building and updating of life pricing models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage 1-2 actuarial students
- Complete the pricing and actuarial filing requirements for new life products
- Build and update pricing models for new and existing life products
- Support the development of pricing assumptions
- Monitor the profitability of new life sales
- Work with Actuarial Modeling to support the build of corporate actuarial models for new life products
- Align with partners in Valuation and Accounting on the appropriate reserving and accounting treatment for new life products
- Collaborate with Model Risk Management to ensure pricing models and model documentation complies with Brighthouse policies
- Coordinate with partners in Actuarial to stay current on emerging actuarial issues and to quantify their potential impacts to Brighthouse
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- FSA and MAAA
- 7+ years of actuarial experience, including experience pricing life products
- Solid understanding of regulatory, financial, and corporate frameworks
- Ability to effectively communicate complex pricing concepts to a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to build and manage a team with a degree of autonomy and expertise
