Job Summary

The primary function of the Community Network Manager (CNM) Manager is to facilitate the development of a robust and engaged “stakeholder team” of residents, volunteers, interns, property management staff, partners, and community members. The CNM will support the “team” in creating a centralized network of programs and services that can be leveraged by several communities and that meet the needs of residents of all ages and improves their ability to invest in their community’s sustainability. The CNM’s role is to build the capacity of the “stakeholder team” to increase resident-led activities, coordinate collective problem solving, and to make partner resources available and accessible to the community and the residents. The CNM is responsible for supervising the “stakeholder team” and managing a budget. The individual in this role works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This position reports to the Senior Director of Community Impact and Engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes team results by communicating network expectations to partners, volunteers, interns, property management; planning, monitoring, and appraising network progress; coaching, counseling the “team”; developing, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures that support synergy among the “stakeholder team”
  • Supports strategic network goals by gathering services and operations data; entering and evaluating data; working with the senior network leader to choose a course of action when adjustments are needed; defining new objectives; evaluating outcomes
  • Maintains stakeholder team by orienting and training partners, supervising resident and other volunteers, maintaining relationship with property management, and working closely with the senior network leader.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Maintains quality programs and services by enforcing quality and “customer service” standards; analyzing and resolving quality and “customer service problems”; recommending necessary improvements
  • Maintains effective work environment and develops personal capacity building opportunities for the team
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree plus minimum of 2 years of relevant work required
  • Minimum of 5 years in Community Development and/or Community organizing activities
  • Performance and project management, supervision, quality management, results driven, developing budgets, enforcing standards, foster teamwork, handles pressure, giving feedback
  • Experience working in community engagement, community development, or resident services
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing
  • Makes effective use of technology in making their work efficient and effective
  • Understands how to build the capacity of people to work together for the good of the community
  • Ability to resolve conflict with staff or between residents and mediate resolution
  • Ability to communicate organizational values and practices to team members
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and think strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in both an independent and collaborative team setting
