The Center Director supervises and administers all programs, services and activities at the Center. He/she continuously evaluates program offerings to ensure the programs are fiscally responsible and meet the needs and demands for the surrounding community. The Director is responsible for ensuring the Center is compliant with all federal, state, institutional and accreditation guidelines and regulations.
The Center Director directly manages and supports all staff assigned to the Center and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees in those positions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Supervise daily enrollment, academic and continuing education operations, including admissions, financial aid, advising, registration, billing processes, etc.
2. In cooperation with the Student Accounts department, monitor individual student accounts to ensure all payments are up to date.
3. Work with the Director of Admissions and the Student Affairs department to develop and implement Center retention plan for all students.
4. Hire, supervise, evaluate and provide leadership to Center staff.
5. Recruit, hire and support the adjunct faculty staff and continuing education instructors.
6. Work with the Director of Admissions to develop the Center’s budget, and monitor to ensure Center remains profitable and compliant with approved spending guidelines.
7. Coordinate with the Academic Dean and Director of Continuing Education to create the course schedules (fall, spring, etc.) for degree programs and Continuing Education courses and work collaboratively with program directors for the specialty programs.
8. Develop and implement the Center’s marketing plan while working collaboratively with the College Advancement team.
9. Develop and market new continuing education programs and work cooperatively with Continuing Education and other departments, as required.
10. Work with and participate in area economic and workforce development agencies, chamber of commerce’s, social service agencies and other groups and organizations whose mission intersects with the College’s mission.
11. Uphold the policies and procedures of the College.
12. Prepare and submit various reports of enrollment, retention and student activities, upon request.
13. Provide classroom instruction as required (ie. College 101, Capstone, other courses qualified to teach).
14. Provide staff development training in all processes of the Center for staff and faculty.
15. Support the College’s Development/Fundraising activities.
16. Lead the departmental or unit level planning process in alignment with the Institutional Strategic Plan, being sure to meaningfully engage staff members in each step of the process, and facilitate the assignment of ownership for each activity related to the departmental plans and ensure that tasks are carried out as expected.
17. Collaborate with other departmental heads to ensure that overlapping or related initiatives are coordinated.
18. Participate in the Institutional Strategic Planning process as requested.
19. Assess achievement of departmental plans annually, formally report results to supervisor, and participate in the college wide review of departmental plans as requested.

EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or related field required.
2. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Five (5) years of Educational or Business management experience is required.
2. Experience in the Higher Education, sales and marketing field preferred.
