Salary Range: $40,000 Base Salary with Projected 1st Year Commissions of $38,000

The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a professional to generate revenue through new membership sales, advertising sales and sponsorship sales. This position views all activities of the Chamber from a holistic perspective and represents them to current and prospective members from an overall engagement standpoint to ensure continued successful interactions with the Chamber and the community at large. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and staffs membership activities of the Chamber and coordinates membership maintenance and retention programs. They are also responsible for the sale of and enrollment of new memberships to meet growth objectives. Takes lead role in Chamber collection and retention programs.
This position will work with leadership to strategize for membership development, identify prospects, create budgets, communicate goals, provide progress reports and sell and grow memberships, advertising and sponsorships. They will view membership interests from a comprehensive approach and translate that into revenue items that benefit the member and the Chamber.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Contact, acquire and sell new Chamber memberships
· Schedule appointments and personal visits with prospects at prospect locations
· Achieve revenue goals for new membership
· Achieve revenue goals for programs and events sponsorships
· Achieve revenue goals for publication advertising sales
· Report and communicate progress towards revenue goals
· Maintains knowledge of Chamber goals, objectives, services and events provided by the organization
· Actively support and participate in Chamber events and programs
· Works to upgrade current and new members to higher levels of membership
· Assists Chamber members in taking full advantage of their membership
· Assists with coordination and attends all Ribbon Cuttings to celebrate new and existing members in their business operations
· Collaborate with the Marketing, Programs and Events, Advocacy and Greenhouse department to create a holistic membership experience
· Spearhead new member engagement by collaborating with current Ambassador Council chair to create an effective team of Ambassadors
Required Competencies and Experience
· A bachelor’s degree; ideally in a related field
· A minimum of 4 years related professional experience with at least two years in a membership organization
· Strong organization, time management and multi-tasking skills, detailed oriented
· Must have a minimum of three years of previous sales experience
· Self-starter with a professional appearance
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
· Experience in a CRM database software is highly desirable
· Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle with proof of license and insurance
· Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and to upgrade and sell major accounts
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
· Must be a team player that works well in an adapting environment
· Must have the ability to foster the values of member relations
· Exceptional people skills with an outgoing personality
· Flexible schedule, often working evenings Monday through Friday

Salary: $40,000.00 to $78,000.00 /year
