Under the direction of the Director, Project Management Office (PMO) and in partnership with Versiti leadership, the Project Manager plans, coordinates and oversees Versiti projects and programs in accordance with established PMO best practices. Defines project objectives, tasks and timelines, manages and reports project progress (scope, schedule, budget), and coordinates the efforts of project team members to deliver projects according to plan.

Major Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages overall project coordination for multiple, cross-functional initiatives and priorities
  • Plans projects by developing and maintaining project scope, goals, deliverables and key milestones according to governance standards and in collaboration with senior management
  • Creates project deliverables including Project Charter, Business Case, change requests, detailed project plan, status reports, communication plan and implementation documentation
  • Collaborates with management, key stakeholders, project sponsors and project team members to drive project execution
  • Manages communications with all areas of the organization that impact scope, budget, risk and resources
  • Organizes project activities into manageable work efforts and determines effective approach to complete work according to project plan
  • Identifies and manages risk and issues; facilitates decision-making that is required for continued project progress and contingency actions
  • Estimate the resources needed and commitments required to achieve project goals
  • Ensures on-time, on-budget, high quality delivery of assigned projects
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with all stakeholders including resolution of issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Participates on the Versiti Project Council to standardize and support project management practices across the affiliates
  • Assists with training, coaching, mentoring new or less-experienced project managers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems or related field required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
  • Advanced training in methodologies including change management, project management, process and continuous improvement and cross-functional team facilitation preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects with complex systems and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Extensive experience in change control, change management, and continuous improvement process and tools
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (clinical, healthcare, laboratory or pharmaceutical) preferred

  • Expertise in project management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to adjust style to executive, management, and staff levels
  • Effective coordination of complex processes and cross functional groups
  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic and complex environment, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player, take a leadership role, and facilitate teams
  • Ability to drive change to achieve results consistent with objectives
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

This role will require minimal to moderate (approximately up to 20%) travel
