Description
- Execute annual plan and develop & execute 3-5-year strategies for assigned commodities
- The annual plan will include projects to achieve cost containment, lead time and service level improvement, quality improvement and supplier risk scoring and mitigation.
- The 3-5-year plan will include supplier classification “grow, maintain, exit” and rationalization/consolidation of supply base.
- Management of key raw material and springs suppliers in Americas through conducting periodic supplier reviews and building of strong supplier relationships.
- Conduct supplier business reviews and provide performance feedback
- Supplier performance assessment including plans for continuous improvement
- Drive & track supplier improvement focusing on quality, lead time, service level & capacity.
- Obtain market intelligence and understand supplier plans and long-term strategies
- Provide a road map to mitigate risk and to improve supply chain flexibility
- Lead negotiations with key suppliers for long-term agreements or cost containment projects
- Negotiations could include multiple sites or in some cases multiple regions.
- Review suppliers SWOT periodically
- Develop Business Cases to work with suppliers on flexibility and to expand capacity.
- Planned phase-out of non-performing suppliers
- Understand cost drivers for springs & raw materials and provide market intelligence to Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Product Management. Monitor indices and develop agreements to standardize cost adjustments based on market movement.
- Be the PRM “owner” of the supplier relationship with Pressure Management.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Procurement, Engineering Operations or Business
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply, Engineering, Operations or Finance
- Experience in implementing supplier improvement programs
- Strong negotiating skills & project management
- Professional understanding of the supply discipline
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment would be a plus
