We currently seek a an SVP/Group Account Director to oversee and lead account management processes within our Healthcare group. You will act as a senior solutions-oriented leader who thrives on developing lasting relationships between the client and the agency. Utilizing your deep industry knowledge and experience, you’ll inspire team members to make MERGE strategy, creative, performance marketing, direct response and digital campaigns more innovative, smart, and robust.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client-Agency Relationship:

  • Serve as the primary agency contact as it pertains to larger strategic initiatives and assignments, providing leadership and direction to both the internal team and client
  • Effectively grow, build, and protect strong client relationships and manage the overall client business, balancing the expectations and business goals of the client as well as the agency
  • Partner with clients to guide upfront planning process, proactively identifying growth opportunities, and added-value ideas, develop action plans for clients’ marketing communication goals, including the development of key measurement criteria for projects
  • Remain in touch with the agency’s “day-to-day” business on behalf of clients; act as the agency’s subject matter expert on the healthcare vertical, including competitive situation, industry trends and the projects assigned to the agency

Management:

  • Employ the agency’s resources to effectively and profitably serve existing clients while developing the skills and talents of the account management staff.
  • Lead a team of account management employees, effectively assigning, delegating and monitoring the work to ensure client satisfaction
  • Provide a model of project/team leadership by being prepared and pro-active, thorough and accurate, fair and balanced, and displaying a willingness to do whatever is required. Perpetuate a positive and trusting working environment by supporting multiple points of view.
  • Make certain staff completes monthly billing in accordance with the Accounting calendar. Review monthly budget recaps to track client revenue against historical patterns and annual targets. Enter time on a weekly basis and make certain staff members follow accordingly
  • Provide continuous performance feedback to teammates, adjusting goals as appropriate, celebrating wins, and pushing the team to deliver a continuously improving product

Income Projection:

  • Manage client billing and financial status reports at a high level
  • Establish annual billing and revenue goals for each client, tracking progress on a quarterly basis. Proactively initiate discussion, and address any anticipated variance from, annual revenue goals
  • Anticipate and address potential client relationship or revenue issues, advising agency management in time for the agency to act proactively
  • Oversee tracking of financial forecasting/tracking and reporting and flag any potential projected income variance to Senior Management


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of account management experience in an advertising agency environment that includes a proven track record of strategic leadership in integrated marketing with a focus on performance marketing, direct and digital
  • Very strong direct response/performance marketing (print + digital) experience
  • Deep expertise in the Healthcare industry vertical a plus
  • Advanced client management skills, especially as it relates to expanding business within existing clients
  • Strong, proactive leader possessing big picture thinking
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with seasoned presentation and pitch skills
  • Proven ability to evaluate competitive communications across category, consumer, service, cultural trends, etc.
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA a plus
