Facilities Services seeking a Security Manager at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

  • Manages and directs the work activities.
  • Provides supervision to the shift leaders, Officers, and Security Representatives as needed.
  • Displays leadership, managerial effectiveness and organizational commitment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages security staff to ensure that all aspects of security operations are conducted in accordance with Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes leadership skill with Hospital management, patients, visitors, staff, consultants and contractors to ensure that objectives are achieved within budget, program and schedule constraints. Effectively handles managerial activities, including planning, problem-solving and communications.
  • Ensures proper completion of record keeping and necessary documentation for departmental activities.
  • Develops, reviews and initiates departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in planning, development and coordination of departmental projects that are compatible with Hospital goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates personnel matters for departmental employees, including training, counseling and enforcement of disciplinary actions.
  • Provides liaison with the area Police Departments, County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding investigations and other areas of mutual concern.
  • Provides technical expertise in the area of security of operations.
  • Recommends Hospital responses to security issues such as demonstrations and bomb threats.
  • Follows all safety rules on the job.
  • Reports accident promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.
  • Demonstrates the components of the I CARE values statement and complies with Business Practices standards for performance.
  • Demonstrates Service Pride standards in providing customer service/patient satisfaction.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Security operations experience required.
  • Five years experience in management or professional role in corporate organization.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in related criminal justice field or eight years equivalent related experience and training.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must be eligible to be licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Bureau of Private Security.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Normal office environnent.
  • Walks or stands for long periods of time to perform on-site inspection of security operations.
  • Professional office attire required.
  • Job does require some outdoor functions related to patrolling.
