The Region Vice President (RVP) is accountable for leading and managing the Field Operations and Network Implementation workforce, budgets, performance metrics and networks within the operating Region. The RVP is the executive presence and market interface for network investments, service connectivity and delivery and repair initiatives.
This position is also responsible for supporting revenue initiatives, jointly with national marketing and the Enterprise and Consumer Business Units. The RVP is a strong, visible and proactive leader and communicator with an intellectual curiosity that works to develop and groom the organization through frequent communications, metric reviews, market visits, and team member engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees and is accountable for the management of all operational aspects of workforce, budget and service level metrics, executed through the direct and indirect workforce, both union-represented and non-union, who are responsible for the customer facing installation, repair, maintenance, service delivery and planning functions, and many indirect outsource partners.
- Leads the roll out and implementation of new technologies, products and services for our consumer and business customers across a wide footprint.
- Manages self and team to established revenue and expense targets, customer satisfaction, product unit objectives, safety standards, and service quality metrics.
- Manages operating expense budgets for employee and non-employee expense including capital labor.
- Partners with peer organizations (Service Delivery, Engineering and Construction, Planning and Sales and Marketing) to exceed service and network reliability standards while driving revenue and operational efficiencies.
- Represents CenturyLink via community relations initiatives by serving on local executive boards and interfacing with local government and regulatory entities.
- Continually assesses local market opportunities and market strategies to ensure operational optimization.
- Tactically ensures service reliability, network implementation and installation of products and services aligned with CenturyLink’s Business Units strategies.
- As our business changes, the RVP leads and provides change management and standards adherence to ensure workforce and cost optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience with 10+ years’ experience in telecommunications.
- 8+ years in leadership experience.
- Relentless focus on results and driving operating improvements.
- Strong communications skills, orally and in writing, with the ability to create and present powerful and meaningful presentations regarding performance of market
- Previous sales and marketing background is preferred, to ensure strong alignment with CenturyLink sales organizations, community leaders, government officials and key business advocacy constituencies.
- Results driven leadership and coaching skills
- Strong budget management experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Union workforce management experience
- Ability to travel the territory frequently
- Lean Six Sigma certification, Green Belt, preferred.
