Job Summary
Under direction of the Manager of Public Plans Business Implementation, the Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple implementation efforts of moderate complexity with interdepartmental impact. This work is in direct support of Public Plans’ four products: Together (MassHealth ACO and MCO), Together Rhode Island (Rhode Island MCO), Direct (MA Health Connector products), and Unify (dual-eligible Medicare and Medicaid). The Project Manager will need lead and manage interdepartmental projects including the creation and maintenance of a charter document, triaging and prioritizing competing issues, troubleshooting and resolving issues or roadblocks to the project, and communicating effectively across departments, staff levels, and insurance functions. If successful, the Project Manager will improve the transparency, velocity, and quality of Public Plans’ implementation efforts while increasing collaboration across departments and with the enterprise.
Job Description
Project Management:
- Manage multiple interdepartmental implementation projects of moderate complexity.
- Employ a variety of project methodologies, depending on the initiative, with a heavy focus on Agile.
- Create and maintain a charter document for each project to capture all deliverables, stakeholders, risks, decisions, and timelines.
- Lead interdepartmental team members of varying backgrounds and skillsets to successful implementations.
- Regularly review and communicate the status of project deliverables.
- Oversee and facilitate project team meetings and resolve roadblocks to project progress.
Public Plans Business Implementation:
- Collaborate with Public Plans Product owners, Public Plans leadership, and Enterprise leaders to set prioritization and maintain on-going Public Plans prioritized backlog of initiatives.
- Support overall Enterprise strategic priorities tracking for Public Plans, including collaboration with Public Plans business initiative owners, owning tracking and status updates, and report out to Public Plans Senior Leadership.
- Build, nurture, and leverage relationships across both Public Plans and the enterprise to stay informed, consult on relevant issues impacting Public Plans, and to execute on implementation roadmap in a manner that satisfies Public Plans product goals.
- Actively monitor business activity across the enterprise to be aware of initiatives potentially impacting Public Plans.
- Liaise with counterparts throughout the Enterprise to compare solutions, identify areas of collaboration, efficiency, and where Public Plans can “catch-up”, present to leadership, and initiate projects.
- Present at the biweekly Public Plans Business Implementation Impact Community meeting of division stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years of professional experience.
One to three years of project management experience.
Three or more years of healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience in complex, cross-functional organization preferred.

- Facilitation – ability to facilitate decisions among Directors, VPs, and above

- Expert MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills
- Dynamic working style – can work independently, in teams, or in leadership positions
- Learns quickly and can get up to speed quickly on range of subject matter
- Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results in collaborative, matrixed, or cross-functional organization
- Expert project management skills, including range of methodologies, experience in complex, matrixed environments
- Comfort learning new tools, methods, and incorporating them into on-going work
- Requires the ability to prioritize competing issues.
- Requires proficient competency with applying PM techniques, tools and methods
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Fast paced office environment.
- May require limited travel to offsite vendors.
