The Project Manager optimizes the project development life cycle via effective project management for insurance operations (product administration, new business, inforce management) projects of all sizes and types.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
- Working with the project sponsor to determine project scope, costs and return on investment
- Managing projects that involve multiple functional areas, external vendors or other corporate entities
- Developing, nurturing and growing relationships and partnerships at all levels including business line leadership, stakeholders and decision-makers
- Acting as the liaison between the project sponsor, project team, information technology management and associated business areas
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related area
- At least five years of experience as a project manager
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or re-certification within the last three years
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts
- Ability to create partnerships across the organization and relate to the business areas
- Strong knowledge of insurance systems such as product administration, new business and inforce management in the insurance services industry
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into project scope and tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
