Job Summary
The Project Manager will focus on providing high quality, cost effective information systems solutions to internal customers. This individual will act as a business partner and be responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of IS projects supporting a wide variety of business initiatives. Works with internal customers and other IS team members to develop project charters for individual projects. Responsible for planning and staffing projects to meet delivery schedules while ensuring a quality deliverable. Manages project issues, risks and budget. Engage and partner with stakeholders and directs team to deliver project milestones per plan. Ensures effective communications and relationships between customers and project team members are maintained. Leads or assists with change management.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Understands project work from a technical perspective while being able to communicate with and engage non-technical stakeholders.
- Provides team leadership on individual projects.
- Works with appropriate customers to develop project scope of work documents and project plans that include cost / benefit analysis, project schedule, define and track measurable outcomes and any related risks.
- Create and maintain project plans, risk analysis and mitigation plans, communication plans, project budgets and all other project documentation.
- Assigns, schedules and monitors tasks and project work to ensure progress is within expected guidelines, is completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor and perform all day to day management of project phases including requirement gathering, design, development, test, and deployment.
- Mentors and provides expertise to other project team members.
- Works with appropriate business and I.S. management to identify roles of project team members, develop staffing plans, and manage capacity.
- Defines the responsibilities of stakeholders involved in the project including business management, IS management, project team, vendors, and others affected by the project.
- Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of IS projects. Facilitates solutions.
- Maintains effective communication and working relationships with customers and project team members.
- Ensures appropriate testing and user acceptance of project deliverables
- Develops Requests for Proposals (RFP), evaluates responses and leads selection teams.
- Prepares and presents oral and/or written project status reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Utilizes various software tools to complete assignments.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years working in IS Project Management or related role
- Experience using project management software tools preferred
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Project Management Certification (PMP)
- Experience managing SAP ERP projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Strong presentation skills
