American Equipment Manufacturing is looking for a Procurement Materials Coordinator/Manager. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and includes directing purchasing agents and buyers throughout the process of evaluating suppliers, negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier and vendor contracts. This role will lead cross functional teams to strategically select products and suppliers ensuring the best possible price, quality, service, and overall terms. The position will also pursue opportunities to reduce costs, minimize risk and improve business conditions as well as partner with internal stakeholders to identify and define their requirements, provide on-going supplier relationship management and monitor what the company purchases, delivers and spends to determine if goods are defective or not meeting performance demands. Understanding minimum/maximum inventory requirements is a must. Being confident and a good negotiator is important for this position to be able to get desirable terms for contracts. Being able to do basic math, analyze information and make quick decisions is helpful for choosing suppliers, managing costs and choosing quality merchandise. Familiarity with pipe valves and fittings a plus. Must be able to work in a team environment.
