Procurement Manager and Estimator

SAGA Construction, Inc. (SAGA), an innovative and growing construction firm is looking for a motivated Estimation and Procurement Manager with at least 5+ years’ management experience in the construction industry. Excellent interpersonal, and analytical skills required. A through working knowledge of residential, multi-family and light commercial construction and development is essential. Excellent salary and benefits based on experience and ability to lead a team of 3-4.

This person will be well versed in the entire construction and development process from initial pre-construction to job completion. Must be able tomanage a team of 3-4 professionals in the estimation and procurement department to ensure that all jobs procurement timelines are met, take-offs are accurate, pricing is fair, order quantities are procured in the correct sequence and ensure that suppliers and vendors meet company expectations.

Key Departmental Responsibilities

· Explore documentation, notes, and other communications in order to gain a deep understanding of project specifications and requirements.

· Manage project specification and selections changes.

· Measure and Manage Takeoffs, and other important metrics of Construction Plans and compare to historical data.

· Visit sites and storage locations to manage inhouse construction supply inventory.

· Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.

· Provide Cost/Budget Estimates on Take Offs

· Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.

· Review Pricing with Subcontracts for Labor/Materials

· Review Pricing with Vendors for Materials/Labor

· Prepare construction budget.

· Maintain Unit pricing

· Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis.

Key Requirements

· BA in construction related field preferred.

· Experience in digital take-off software a big plus such as planswift, OnCenter, STACK, STACKCT

· Experience with software such as Procore, BuilderTrend, CoConstruct, and UDA Construction Online a plus but not required for application.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to multi-task and good time management skills

· Understanding of construction plans/takeoff

· Solid analytical skills

· Excellent computer/software skills

· Good negotiation & interpersonal skills

Salary: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
