General Summary
This position is within the Partner Services / Global Partnerships, North America Department and is primarily responsible for closely managing and collaborating with IRONMAN and Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Partners, while supporting the Partner’s strategic goals and objectives. This role is responsible for becoming educated on their partners’ brand objectives, partnership goals, and working to advocate for their partners with our internal team. Additionally, this position will be responsible for enhancing communications internally and externally (with Partners), along with driving incremental revenue by focusing on executing each account’s strategic plan and activating agreed upon assets.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1. Be the point of contact for series and title level IRONMAN and Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series North American Partners
2. Prepares a service and communication plan to appropriately execute the sponsorship program of the partner
3. Develop full understanding of assigned partners from a strategic level
4. Maintains relationships with existing partners throughout the duration of the year, while continuing to deliver agreed upon assets in the partner’s sponsorship program
5. Schedule conference and regular status calls based upon account size – to ensure ongoing communication and proper account management
6. Schedule appropriate number of face-to-face meetings (IRONMAN Offices, at Partner Offices, or at events)
7. Communicate sponsorship benefits deliverables with the Partnership Activation Team and other departments to finalize activation and fulfillment successfully
8. Up-sell accounts according to the strategic objectives –which could include advertising, sponsorship, new products, and new territories
9. Manage internal communications with team members and departments
10. Work with Business Intelligence team to deliver annual Partner recaps
11. Support the Global Partnerships, North America team with event related assignments and travel to assigned events to support Account Management, VIP and Activation roles on-site as needed
12. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
Education and work experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
2. 3-4 Years of Experience in partner service or account management.
Skills and knowledge:
- Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress
- Must be able to travel on an as needed basis to visit accounts and attend IM and RnR events
- Must have a knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of Kore is helpful, but training is provided
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication
- Ability to build and maintain contacts with potential partners and sponsors
- Remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
- Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems
- Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees, clients and customers
- Demonstrate an effective team building mentality
