SUMMARY:

Supervises the IT technical team, which includes oversight of security of data, infrastructure and network, telephone system, desktop deployment, system disaster recovery. and backups, Help Desk management and asset management. Evaluates technologies and provides both tactical and strategic direction for the IT department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
include the following:

Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.

Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center and the Project Manager.

Verifies results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented

Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, and information security and control structures.

Recommends information technology best practices, strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

Accomplishes financial objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Assists the CIO and Director of IT in establishment and implementation of procedures and standards for network platform, optimum performance and recoverability of these services.

Participates in the development of the IT plan in collaboration with the clinical IT team, the Director of IT, the CIO and all relevant departmental managers.

Works closely with vendors, ensuring continuity of service and projects.

Provides customer support to internal and external customers.

Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.

Complies with System policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and direction work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages the activities of the IT Technical Team. Coordinating enterprise wide Information System projects is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of those teams.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ years of Network Administration.

5+ years managing an IT department, Prefer Hospital setting

Experience with HPe (Aruba) campus class switches, routers, AP, WLC.

A record of continuing education in the form of classes/training seminars appropriate to maintain HIPAA and Hospital experience preferred.
