IT Sr. Project Manager

Here is an interesting opportunity with my direct client.

• Location: Houston, TX (Downtown)
• Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
• Locals preferred
• Interview: In-person interview mandatory after telephonic round
• Contract type – W2.
• Can work with independent consultants only

Experience required:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive work experience in the Information Technology field including at a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in IT Project Management.

Must have experience managing IT projects in a broad range of subject matters that include: Application Development and IT Infrastructure

Job skills required:

The successful candidate must have the ability to lead large-scale projects. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Results orientated, committed to teamwork and customer service, and must be comfortable making decisions, recommending alternative approaches, and identifying and resolving conflict.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills are essential. Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changes and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and other department/agencies.

Must have had experience in business process analysis and developing business processes.

Job Description:

Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.

Develops detailed work plans, project estimates, detailed project schedule, and resource plans; manages and tracks project costs and budget, and provides status reports to project sponsors and other key project personnel. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for all project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverable.

Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverable. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions or problems. Subject to after hours or 24 hours. On-call when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree is preferred. Project Management Certification a plus
