GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW:
The Center for Clinical Data Science (CCDS) aims to transform healthcare through cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. We combine a translational, product-focused, early-stage culture with the world-class researchers, physicians, and data/computing resources at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals, as well as the broader Partners HealthCare System. The Center for Clinical Data Science provides the perfect environment to focus on using analytics to effect tangible advancements in medicine.
We are looking for a forward thinking, passionate and driven Head of Program Management Office (PMO) to drive our development and services operations for all our business lines. S/he will have a demonstrable record of success executing business strategy and priorities, managing projects and programs, conducting quantitative and financial analysis, and ensuring success.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategy & Clinical Operations, the Director’s principal responsibility will be driving the planning and execution of development and maintenance projects and activities, supporting rapid growth. This highly impactful position will interface considerably with executive leadership within the CCDS, across the Partners’ institutions, with researchers and clinicians, and with teams from our industry partners.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of Project Managers which includes:
o Clinical Development – Clinical Project Manager
o Clinical Data – Data Project Manager
o Software and Infrastructure – Technical Project Manager) and
o General operations/services – AI Services Program Manager
- These project managers will have a dual reporting line to respective functions and the Head of PMO; they will, under the leadership of the Head of PMO:
o Support and provide input into new initiative development and project planning across the center
o Develop and track project plans – timelines, budget, performance and quality of delivery metrics
o Develop, maintain and adhere to to best-practices in regards to project management, process management and initiative planning methods
o Roll-out of new technologies and services (e.g., deployment of AI solutions, new enabling software)
o Define, maintain and inform Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all ongoing processes at the center, in consultation with the management team and in alignment with business priorities
o Coordinate personnel to quickly move projects along and know when to escalate issues
o Coordinate and be the immediate responsibility in terms of decisions that relate to resource allocation
o Liaise and drive complex processes that involve external stakeholders (e.g., system installation)
o Support Quality Management System implementation and up-keep
- Provide granular and constant visibility (e.g., reports, dashboards) to the Executive Director and management team on the performance of the different functions in accordance with plans / SOPs, such as:
o Operational efficiency metrics
o Key performance indicators
o Adherence to Service Level Agreements
- Drive the liaison with corporate functions and stakeholders to define CCDS role in large organizational initiatives
- Take a cardinal part in developing and implementing new business lines / services

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, PhD)
- 8 years of experience working in a fast-paced, competitive environment in a project / product management role, of which a minimum of 4 years of managerial experience, preferably in the technology or healthcare industry
- Experience in healthcare and exposure to the fields of data science and machine learning, strongly preferred
- Demonstrable presentation and communication skills, preferably in a ‘pitch’ or sales environment
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Experience using project management tracking systems (MS Project, VersionOne, Confluence, JIRA, Wrike, etc.)
- Experience managing multiple projects and negotiating large budgets ($10M+), timelines and responsibilities
- Experience with CRM / database software strongly preferred
- Knowledge of technologies utilized within healthcare informatics
- Experience managing complex system integrations using HL7, DICOM and other industry standards – a strong plus
